About Bang Saray

​     Bang Saray (often spelt Bang Sare) is a small but growing town located on Thailand’s Eastern Seaboard. Bang Saray is located in Sattahip district of Chonburi province just 20km from the vibrant city of Pattaya and 52km form the industrial center of Rayong city. Bang Saray is 160km from the capital city of Bangkok and 138km from Suvarnabhumi (Bangkok) Airport, which can be reached in approximately one and half hours by car. The nearby U-Tapao International airport is only 22.5km away and can be reached by car in around 25 minutes.

     Bang Saray was once a small fishing village but has seen rapid growth over the last few years. Located close to Sattahip naval base the area is home to many of the navies recruits and officers. Bang Saray is also home to a large Thai and growing expat community. Bang Saray still retains the charm of old world Thailand; with a quaint fishing pier, many seafood restaurants and local markets. There is a beautiful temple in the center of town and in the morning you can watch the monks walk around town. Over the last ten years Bang Saray has seen increasing development of residential and commercial properties to support this thriving community. Residents and tourists are attracted to the areas stunning natural beauty and relaxed atmosphere.

     The area is home to some of the most beautiful beaches on the Eastern Seaboard including the stunning Haad Sai Keow beach. Bang Saray is full of lush open fields, lakes, mangroves and a beautiful central park located along the beach road. The area is also renowned for it’s freshly caught seafood with an array of wonderful seafood restaurants dotted along the coastline. There is also a growing café culture with new coffee shops opening to cater to rising demand. Bang Saray has all these benefits whilst not suffering from the congestion, noise and urbanization of other resort destinations. However Bang Saray is just a short drive from Pattaya city with it’s bustling nightlife, dining and shopping options; providing the convenience and excitement of city living within easy reach. There are also a range of other amenities nearby such as Ocean Marina Yacht club (Asia’s largest marina complex) just 12km away. The stunning Silverlake Vineyards with stunning vistas and dining options is just 10km away. There are also several important temples and landmarks in this area such as Khao Chi Chan (109m high golden Buddha carving) and Wat Yansangwararam temple. The area is also home to a huge range of golf courses with over 20 PGA courses within an hours drive. There are also a number of world class international schools just a short drive away. All of these factors make Bang Saray one of Thailand’s top family destinations.      Bang Saray itself has seen increasing investment as more Thai nationals and expats choose to reside in Bang Saray and the surrounding area. Increasing numbers of tourists now visit the area. Local visitors come from nearby cities such as Pattaya and Rayong; while increasing numbers of Bangkok residents are heading to Bang Saray to escape the city and relax. During the high season a larger number of Western tourists visit the area. In addition Bang Saray is now becoming more well know across Asia with increasing numbers of Asian tourists visiting every year. The development of two 5* hotels in the area has further boosted Bang Saray’s profile as an attractive tourist destination. A number of new condominium and housing projects have also been completed over the last few years with more coming online every year. The local municipality (teseban) have been improving the area with a range of projects including renovating the beach road with a new promenade and installing solar powered lighting. There are also a number of major infrastructure projects happening around Bang Saray as part of the governments Eastern Economic Corridor (E.E.C) Initiative. These include the expansion of the local U-Tapao airport and development of a new motorway link which will connect the number seven motorway with Sukhumvit road and U-Tapao Airport. The expansion of Sattahip Ferry and Cruise Port and a planned high-speed rail project will also help cement the area as a tourist and logistical hub.
